A monumental episode for many reasons, not only is it missing Soul Bro Ryu (who was out due the madness of Valentine’s Day weekend), but it marks the first installment in an ongoing discussion about Model Building! With the help of accomplished Gunpla aficionado, Andres Cerrato of Tomopop.com, one of the most requested topics from the Gundamnation finally arrives to Gundamn! @ MAHQ!
Before that, however, Chris & Neo read more of our listeners letters from the Gundamn Mailbag! Then, they delve into an excellent topic submitted by MechaTalk.net’s own Seraphic, who asks what their thoughts are on the “next stage humans” (i.e. Newtypes, Coordinators, Innovades, etc.) in the Gundam franchise.
Last but not least, it’s that time of year again. Gundamn will be coming to you live – not once, but twice! – this year @ MegaCon 2010 in Orlando, FL on March 12 – 14, 2010! If you are going to be in the Central Florida area that weekend make sure to stop on by the Orange County Convention Center and participate in the madness on:
– Friday; March 12, 2010 @ 8pm – 10pm
– Sunday; March 14, 2010 @ 12pm – 2pm
– Room: W224D
Watch this space & our websites, MAHQ.net & Gundamn.net for more info about the live show in the very near future & we’re looking forward to seeing you there!
Many thanks to Andres & everyone who submitted and participated in this episode! Also, make sure to check out Andres at Tomopop and his YouTube Channel after the show for his coverage on model building!
Enjoy & thanks for listening!

In this episode, we have a rousing discussion about things American mecha fans will have to accept whether they like it or not. In the spirit of our specially themed episode, Chris proposed two topics to our listeners:
- Gundam will never be as popular again in America as it once was.
- Harmony Gold will maintain an iron grip on Robotech, and no one else is ever going to release any Macross.
Many thanks to all the people at MechaTalk.net & the Macross World Forums who participated and contributed responses! You helped make this a great episode and we can’t wait to do more themed segments like these in the future!
Enjoy & thanks for listening!

Outro: Closing/Peep the Websites!
Runtime: 1:17:10 – 1:26:45
In a episode that’s off the beaten path, Gundamn welcomes MAHQ.net co-founder Dale Rausch as he relays his experience at the all-new & smaller spinoff convention to Megacon, the aptly named “Mini-Megacon.” Then in the following segment, Pedro Cortes of Tomopop.com & Tomocast returns to the show to recount his recent trip to Tokyo. There, he and his cohorts from Japanator not only attended the legendary Otaku gathering, Comiket, but also visited the RX-78-2 statue in Odaiba where the festivities for the 30th Anniversary for Gundam were being held. Both are excellent segments and mucho props to Dale & Pedro for taking the time to rock the mic with us!
Also, be on the lookout for Gundamn cameos on other podcasts! In the near future Chris will be appearing on “Solar Radio Wave” while Neo will be joining in on the convo on “Anime Addicts Anonymous.” Plus, Valentine & Mitsugi, the co-hosts from Anime Addicts Anonymous will be appearing on a upcoming episode of Gundamn! as well! Both are excellent podcasts as well as our friends at SSAA Podcast, 2G Radio & Tomocast and are well worth the time spent while waiting for new eps of “Gundamn!”

After a brief hiatus, we’re finally back! This time the discussion returns to the “Big Sleep” as we get into our picks for character deaths in Mecha & Sci-fi anime we wish we could take back. Before that, however, the fantasy mecha series and film of Escaflowne are covered after almost two years of mentioning it in past episode. A fantastic series and a review that’s been a long time coming!
